momcafé Event  -  Creating Your Own Path - Vancouver

Our upcoming event, 'Creating Your Own Path - Vancouver', is on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 9:15am
momcafé is pleased to present two savvy, creative and fun-loving Moms who took it upon themselves to design their own careers, based on passion, creativity and flexibility. Join us at Lilli'Q in Yaletown for this inspirational session!
The speakers at Creating Your Own Path - Vancouver will be:

Cori Howard

Cori Howard is an award-winning journalist whose work in newspapers, magazines, books, radio and TV has taken her, and now her family, around the world--to Burma, Costa Rica, Chile and Brazil, among others. Her work has been published in The National Post, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, Elle, Canadian Geographic and many other publications. Her book, Between Interruptions: Thirty Women Tell the Truth About Motherhood, was published in 2008 and is a Canadian bestseller. She is currently the founder of The Momoir Project: Writing Classes for Moms (www.themomoirproject.com) and is at work on her second book, a travel family memoir.

Danielle Wilson

Danielle Wilson escaped the fast paced world of corporate advertising to create the Sweet Peanut Clothing Company. Sweet Peanut makes fresh and fun baby basics for design savvy parents and comfort loving babies. From a Celebrity Baby favourite to developing collections for Nordstrom’s, Sweet Peanut has been taking the fashion world for the under 30” tall by storm. In the last year Danielle has been honoured in New Pioneers: Stories of 100 BC Women Entrepreneurs and this January as a Business in Vancouver Top 40 under 40 honoree.
Cori and Danielle use humour to get through each day as busy Moms trying to find some sense of balance or equilibrium. Join us for an inspiring and hilarious conversation as Cori and Danielle share their experiences and tips on what works (& doesn’t work) for them.

Onsite childcare is provided so take some time for yourself to linger over a latte, be inspired, and connect with other moms to share your experience.

Thank you to bronze sponsors, BC Hydro; Le Petit Spa and our community partners, Spa Boutique, Bopomo Pictures and Natural Pod.
