The speakers at Cutting through the Green will be:

Bridgitte Alomes

Bridgitte Alomes is the owner and founder of Natural Pod - a leading online retailer of high quality, natural products and toys that inspire creative and imaginative play for families. Natural Pod is committed to the design and local manufacturing of original and exclusive handcrafted items. Bridgitte is also the co-owner of Now Strategies Inc - a marketing strategy consulting firm. She has over 13 years of strategic marketing and communications experience, with a specific focus on tailored programs for software and support services to a wide range of industry verticals and geographies. Bridgitte's work with Natural Pod is inspired by her deep commitment to her family, and providing children with safe non-toxic toys. She also loves dance, music and midnight chocolate.

Lisa Palleson-Stallan

In 2003, Lisa and her husband Andrew founded Lotuswear Designs Ltd. with a commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and fair practice and manufacturing clothing within Vancouver. Today, Lotuswear remains one of the few Canadian companies to manufacture solely in Canada and is a social leader in each of its retail locations. In 2006, Lotuswear launched its “Go Green” program and began to introduce sustainable fabrics into its clothing line. Lisa’s true passion and inspiration for her work lies with her four young children and her husband. She firmly believes that success lies within strong ethical practices and actively seeks to bind the local community together by setting such examples.

Colleen Sweet

Colleen Sweet, new mother of 2, Manager of Government Sector Markets will offer her perspectives as a mom and leader inside a large organization – she’ll share some thoughts on how moms can make a difference when conserving the family’s resources, powersmart messages and more!
Two successful socially-conscious and green-friendly entrepreneur moms will be sharing their inspirational stories and tips on how families can make their holidays greener and budget friendly at the next momcafé event on Friday, November 28 at the Watermark Restaurant on Kits Beach.

Natural Pod will have some great products for all momcafé attendees to check out in-person on Friday the 28th of November. If you’ve always wanted to see their lovely toys, dolls, games, baby gifts and more in person, now’s your chance to get in some early holiday shopping. Natural Pod will also be offering pre-ordering and pick up at this event. This is a great service if you want to secure that 'special item' for Christmas. Cost: $32.00 non-members - $26.25 members (including GST)
Childcare: Kids aged 0 – 12 years old are welcome. Listen to the speakers and engage in uninterrupted conversation while the children are supervised in a safe and fun area nearby. Babies aged 0 to 6 months (or older if you prefer) may choose to sit closer to Mom. An additional fee of $10.00 for the first child and $5.00 for each additional child will be charged for those requiring childcare (snacks included).
