Get ‘Er Done Girls – Alyson Thiessen and Patrizia Hampton
- Moments of meaning are what are important.
- Focus on resistance and release.
- Alyson started as a mortgage specialist in October, 2001.
- In 2003, hired a business coach as she was feeling resistance from some
clients. Turns out she was resisting her personality and her coach encouraged
her to stop. In Alyson’s words, “the world needs me to be me”.
- This opened up the way she did business and the people she met – she was
attracting like minded people,
- She didn’t want to lead, but had to stop resisting this too.
- In 2006, started “Get ‘Er Done Girls”. Like minded moms working 9 – 3.
- Business took off and she was making lots of money, but was miserable.
- “Fast, furious and empty” were the three words to describe her life at this time.
- This was not life’s purpose and she needed to release.
Lessons in a Downturn:
- Don’t let recession determine your attitude.
- Be part of the solution at all times.
- Stay true to yourself.
- Came out of 2006/07 wanting to get more moms on the team.
- Don’t actively recruit; it’s all about the attraction.
Release is about Trust, whether it is in parenting, your business or about whom you are.
Three words to describe life now: joy, awareness and open heart.
- Pat Hampton moved to the Get “Er Done Girls in 2008. She liked their approach and felt the name was catchy and memorable.
- Need to balance money with meaning.
- In 2006 she was living in Vancouver. Both her and her spouse quit their jobs, sold their house and moved to Calgary.
Three words to describe her life at this time: Anticipation, excitement, terrified.
- It’s about working with people’s whole financial picture, not just the mortgage.
- Helping people do what they thought they couldn’t.
- There are opportunities in every market.
