We Walked with the Dinosaurs

Category:

Last night I took my family (hubby plus 2 girls, 3 & 6 yrs old) to Walking with Dinosaurs at the Rogers Arena. I had no idea what to expect. I was worried it would be too scary for my kids and maybe a bit boring for the adults. I was wrong. My kids were on the edges of their seats the entire time, well until my 3 yr old fell asleep in my arms late in the second half as it was well past her usual bedtime, in a good way. They were totally interested and engaged and not at all frightened.

Solid Business Plan: Throw Spaghetti on the Wall

At 17 I moved in with my older brother to attend university. Interestingly, the “issues” I faced living with him are eerily similar to living with my husband. Little explosion of messes left throughout the house, standards of cleanliness nowhere near as impeccable as my own…..hair shavings left in the sink….the list goes on. One afternoon, after an exhausting day of three classes and hanging with my friends enjoying coffee for hours on end, I came home to a complete disaster.

A Latte Perspective

Yes, I am addicted. I indulge in my tall one-pump mocha, one-pump sugar free vanilla extra hot latte, well okay, once a day! Some days the great folks at the ‘bucks just don’t get it right. And for me to ENJOY my latte it must be PERFECT. In fact, in some weird way my daily latte has become almost ritualistic. Bad latte SEEMS to equal bad day.

This is a great example of the POWER OF PERCEPTION.

I am curious. Do you have blue periods? Personal I know. But please, if you in fact have blue periods email me (actually call your doctor first)! You alone could be the reason that TV and print commercials represent the womens’ period with blue liquid instead of well…..you know. See? There I go myself—censoring the reality of what it means to be a woman!

Driving home the other day I suddenly found myself thinking about WHEN I need to think about all I need to think about.

Is it a playground or battleground in the summer?

Category:

Since the heat wave in Vancouver temporarily ended and we received a bit of rain, we’ve been battling the onset of mosquitoes and other biting bugs at our local playground. It’s pretty amazing the size of the welts that the children get from the bug bites. Since I already slather my kids in sunscreen before we go outside to protect them from the sun, I was hesitant to add more chemicals from an insect repellent.
