Do I have to be a mom to attend’?

No! Our events are about connecting women, and they are not exclusive to Moms. Everyone is welcome.

Who runs the childcare?

momcafé has a great childcare team of qualified staff and volunteers, plus the support of Nannies on Call. The children have lots of toys to play with (thanks to Natural Pod for their donation), the Art Express Bus is on site for the older kids, and they have lots of fun!

What aged children do you provide childcare for?

Kids older than 6 months and younger than 12 years old enjoy the childcare. For the little ones, they tend to go back and forth between mom and childcare, depending on their mood. Babies younger than 6 months get to stay with their moms!

What kind of breakfast is provided?

A steaming hot latte, fresh baked goods, and a colorful try of fruit!

I live in Port Coquitlam and my one year old hates car rides. Do you offer or plan to offer momcafé events in other areas of Greater Vancouver?

We would sure like to. It is an item on our agenda during latte meetings.

I am not sure if I can make it as my daughter is fighting a cold. Can I come without pre-registering?

Sure! Arrive at the door, grab a coffee and we will figure out the rest when it is convenient.

If so, what sort of payments do you accept at the door?

We accept cash and cheques at the door. Credit cards are only accepted online.

My toddler is really clinging right now. If she doesn't settle, is there somewhere I can sit near her and still hear?

You can sit with her right at your seat if you want, or if not, depending on the location, there is always plenty of room near the back of the restaurant.

My friend also wants to come. Is there a friend or group discount?

The best thing to do is become a member, and give your friend your event gift certificate so that she can come for free!

If my little one falls asleep in the stroller on the way there, do you have stroller parking where I can sit nearby?

We organize stroller parking at each event, in a secured location. She can also snore away beside your table, if there is room.

What if I am not a Mom?

We have had a lot of people attend momcafés who are not moms. They enjoy the camaraderie, the networking, the information from the speakers, and the general ambience of the morning. Remember that men are welcome too!

What is the event format and timing?

Coffee and registration starts at 9:30am. The main session begins by 10:00am. Each speaker will share her experience and insights before we open up the session for an interactive question and answer period. The formal portion of the event wraps up by 11:00am to allow for further informal networking and mingling until 11:30am.

As a small and new business, how can I best profile my company to momcafé members?

Become a member and fill out your profile is one solution. Become a partner is a second. List your business on our marketplace is a third. Do all three!

What is the refund policy if I have registered for an event and then can’t attend?

We realize that a mom’s life is anything but certain. Our cancellation policy is that we won’t accept cancellations within 72 hours of the event. Cancellations prior to the deadline will be refunded, less a $10 processing fee. That said, moms who have had to cancel thus far have been very happy to attend the next event instead.
